The CBB believes in and supports the practice of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); it is actively involved in one key activity – The English Language Teacher Training Programme (ELT). The British Council manages it on our behalf. It is run in association with the National Institute of Education (N.I.E) and the Ministry of Education. The programme is working extremely well and is into its fourth year.
The goal of the CBB Teacher Training Project is to upgrade the English skills of teachers and thus their pupils throughout Sri Lanka.
This is achieved by building the capacity of local English teachers so that they deliver lessons that are more effective.
HSBC continues to be the principle sponsor of the project. The CBB wants to widen its support and offer all members the opportunity to get involved with and be part of this worthy CSR initiative.
